I'm not sure how we are "fat" on CA when they keep getting JrMan calls. They aren't upgrading FOs because we can't replace them and will be short FOs if they upgrade. When we start parking the 200s, staffing will be adequate for a couple months. The company is still just kicking the can down the road hoping someone will go under and provide a flood of pilots.

Last JR mans were early January due to so many trips dropped on New Years in th SAP. We hired DECs to stop being short staffed on the CA side. We didn't even really hire many. But once we got back on top, the company ran a massive class of 30 which put us a little large in the CA side. The hiring of DECs has nothing to do with the overstaff of CAs. It was a necessity to stay even until current FOs got their time.

Which at this point, I don't think is going to happen. At least not a company that would flood PSA with applicants. Things aren't looking too good for AWAC currently but there wouldn't be a mass exodus of their pilots to PSA. Remember that AAG plans on parking quite a few 200s this year. They are going to come from somewhere...

Have you looked at the critical coverage pay days chart for January? Captains receiving JrMan calls need to report it to the JM hotline. If you know of captains receiving JrMan calls, report it for them in case they forgot.

I deleted my post because Wake did a better job of answering. The calls went out. The info was posted on the forum or processing. Your schedule isn't the metric used to measure staffing. If JrMan calls are going out, we aren't properly staffed. What do you think the heavy summer travel season is going to be like?

Are you shocked that the charts aren't correct with our phenomenal way of tracking and reporting that stuff? All pilots are not aware of the number and no one knows exactly how many calls ever go out. Our system to keep the company honest is a joke.

We are properly staffed right now, but this is the slow season. You add in 2-3 more airplanes per month coupled with the summer flying schedule and this operation is going to be severely strained come July. We need a large group pilots in the pipeline now so that they'll be hitting the line in time for summer. I predict that this summer (barring a reduction in the number of our 200s) that there will be JR man calls all the time and numerous cancellations due to lack of crews.
