I will leave all this for the wisdom of hindsight. I don't recall anyone on this or any other forum-or even in the crewroom- accurately predicting anything which has gone on at LASA in the 15 years I've been here. We are all better served by not throwing barbs between the pilots groups based on predictions of the future.

It will be a shame someday when the pilots at US Airways/American are looking back at our merger and laughing about the acrimony between the pilot groups. We are headed down a path which will make the US Airways East/West debacle look like a cake walk.

It's not really the point of reserves to be covering known flying. Wouldn't you just rather have them build more lines in that case....

Let me know how many hours and or days you fly this month... seriously, if its less then 40 hours and or ten days I will bid reserve for November/ December and you guys can have an extra line.
In July I was just under 100hrs of credit, next month I was close to 50 and this month I'm on pace for 30 if I'm lucky. I'm not sure what is happening exactly.

I look at the awards and I see more 700 pilots than 200 drivers for fewer airplanes and I consider that over staffed. I know that longer legs, more vacation, and a few other things make the 700 more labor intensive, it just seems out of balance.

From a swap/drop perspective crew planning/scheduling can manipulate those numbers however they want to, not a good metric to measure against.

And I'm getting swaps denied for low reserve coverage. ***? I guess it shouldn't surprise me at this place anymore.

I agree. It's a shame that this profession has come to this. It seems most pilot groups want another pilot groups airframes without giving two $hit$ what happens to them. We ought to be ashamed at our lack of unity

You're right, the overwhelming majority of rumors on here are nonsense that people make up for their own entertainment. We'll find out in November via a MyMessage or Brad's Update as to this big announcement that "might" happen...likely nothing will come to pass.

As far as XJT being worse that USAirways East and West, we aren't even CLOSE to that...there are no fights in the parking lot and everyone is cordial to each other when they see one another. People have sharp fingers on the keyboard, but that is about it...

I've been on rsv in dtw for a year now. Past couple of months I've been used 6 days straight of ready rsv and then not flying at all. I'm lucky if I get 20hrs of block. I keep hearing we are understaffed and there is movement, but from my point of view I see no movement at all. I'm willing to work and fly and get 100hrs of block a month like most so I can build my time and leave. Just seems like I'll be in this reserve black hole forever. FML!

Pray tell, how would DAL buy just the ASA side off a merged certificate? And why would SKYW sell the operation that works with them and makes money, but keep the endless money pit?

That's almost as dumb as the rumor a few months ago that UAL was buying back only the XJT side and stapling them.

I don't believe Skywest wants either part of Express jets. I think they'd rather have everything on the non union side of the operation. Skywest has publicly stated they plan on becoming a smaller operation and focus on quality. And Delta WILL NOT put anymore eggs in that basket, bet keep on believing the next announcement will be a good one if you want.

Usually the announcements closer to the holidays are never good.
